Hello Kaye,
The Stinchcomb family in Thorn twp in Perry county is connected to the Seneca county Stinchcombs in this way.
George Stinchcomb Sr. came to Fairfield county in 1805-06, and settled in Thorn twp. George and his wife, Mary Hammond had five children, Daniel Camp, George Jr., James, John, and Catherine. Catherine married Henry Valentine in 1812 in Fairfield county. When Perry county was formed in 1818 the county line was drawn on the west side of the Stinchcomb property. So, all of a sudden they are living in Thorn twp, Perry county. George Sr. sells land to James, John, George Jr., and Henry Valentine(his son-in-law) as "Tenants in common in 1819 in Perry county. Daniel Camp is already deceased by this time.
Around 1827-1828, The Stinchcomb's pack up and all except George Jr. move to Seneca county. George Sr. had married again in 1815 to Mary "Polly" Williamson in Fairfield county. "Polly's" grave is in Rock Run cemetery in Seneca county. Anyway, James and his wife Pricilla Weddle, John and his wife Barbara Turflinger, and Henry and Catherine Stinchcomb Valentine are all living in Seneca County, Ohio. George Jr. has stayed in Perry county in Thorn twp, and raises a family there with his wife, Ann Wiseman. Four of their eight children survive to adulthood, James W. Stinchcomb (Late Major, 17th O.V.I.), Elizabeth Wiseman Stinchcomb, George Franklin "Frank" Stinchcomb, and Susannah H. "Susan" Stinchcomb.
All this can be seen in "Decendants of William Stinchcomb" at www.geocities.com/jstinchcomb_2000.
Have fun..........John
