Roots Web's World Connect Project includes: Revel-Brown / Wage-Canos / Rylander-Ryden /Cool.
The site includes Joseph Lawson Newland, b. 1 May 1835 in Jacktown, OH who d. 15 May 1924 in Otway, Scioto Co., OH. He m. Mariah Josephine Kendall in 1861. Their second born was George Harrod Newland.
The site also includes Sabers Mason s/o Rezin & Mary (Weir)Mason. Mary Weir was the grandaughter of Joseph Weer/Weir/Ware who d. testate in Frederick Co., VA 1824 as his will indicates.
The Weir sisters, Margaret & Catherine, as you know, m. the Newland brothers, John & Marcus in 1788. The fact that Mary Weir is recognized in Revel-Brown, etc. as is Joseph Lawson Newland sugests there may be a tie between the families of George Harrod Newland and John & Marcus Newland. This is the first clue I have seen that may relate the two families.
Have you encountered similar clues? I find this possibility interesting and will spend some time lookinmg closer.
