Hi Barbara,

You may already have this, but I found Mary Ann, 27,
"boarding with" (her parents?) Henry Paden, 55, and Ann, 56, in 2 Ward Portsmouth, in the 1870 Census. Henry works at the Peyton Cemetery. Also living with them are Mary Ann's sons, E. William, 6, and James, 1, as well as John Paden, 23, and Ellen Paden, 18. In that same Census there was a James Crane, age 21, living in 5 Ward Portsmouth, working as a laborer.
