Hi Janette,

I was just looking at some old messages and found yours again. Did you ever learn anything more form your mother? It was so exciting seeing that someone else is researching the same family. The 1850 Census shows David 45, married to Nancy 32. The oldest child, Caroline, is listed as 18. Also, I found that a David Brown married Lucinda Cockrell in Scioto Co. in 1830. I then found that a Daniel Brown married Nancy Smith in 1848. The way they wrote back then, David's and Daniel's were often confussed. I'm thinking that Lucinda was the mother of the children and died, possibly giving birth to the last child in 1847. He then married Nancy. This is only a theory. Sure wish I had proof. I know that David was born in VA, but that's all. If you have anything I would really appreciate hearing from you!!!

Thanks so much,
