HELP ON A POSSIBLE BOGUS TIP

My great grandpa was John Hensley, born December 23rd, 1871 in Wayne County West Virginia who was married to my great grandma Lucinda Rogers. They lived in Floyd County Kentucky until 1912 when they moved to Wayne County West Virginia, to a place on the left branch of 12 pole creek, near where John's possibly already widowed mother, Kate nee' Robinson (or robertson, how it may have been in a census listing a 5 year old named Kate Robinson in Wayne County. John's father,Kate's husband, was a man whose birth name was William Alexander, who was born between the time period of the 1830s to the 1850s. When William was very young his parents died, and he was taken in by a Hensley man (as my grandma told my mother)who may have been either Stephen or Elijah Hensley, and he took the Hensley name and was called Bill Hensley in my great grandfather's obituary. I have talked to many people in my 3 year oddysey on this family line, and combed through many dead ends and wrong turns. One has to involve scioto. This man once got in touch with me and gave me a most intriguing tip that may be one very possible solution. This man said that Bill's parents were Peyton Alexander and Mahalia (or Mahala)Hensley that lived in Scioto. I could never prove this on your website for your county genealogy or anything else. If anyone could just tell me ANYTHING about this, such as if there was an alexander family in Ohio in about the time period of bill's birth, or if you could miraculously prove this theory, and tell me the parentage of Bill's parents I would be so grateful.
