By chance do you know what denomination Samuel was a clergy for? My Newmans were United Brethren and there were three brothers, George, Phillip Hanon and Jacob all born near 1800 and came from Pennsylvania. They lived in Ohio and then Indiana before moving to Marion Co., Iowa. George was part of the Scioto or Scito Conference and was given license to preach in 1837 in Lexington, Ohio. Sue
