i am looking for anyone related to a Speaker/Spieker/Spiecher/Von Spieker family that would have immigrated to the Sandusky area in the first half of the 19th Century to this area from Prussia. Our gggrandfather, Frank Adelbert Speaker, was born of an Ohio woman, named Evans, we think, and a sailor named Speaker. The sailor was killed in a shipping accident on one of Captain Henry Kelley's ships between 1853-1855 and Frank was then given up by the young mother to the Captain and his wife to raise. Frank lived with the Kelley name, but it was legally changed in 1900 from Speaker to Kelley. However, that Speaker name could already have been Americanized. Frank apparently came from Huron County. He died in 1944.
