The 1870 Ross County Census only shows them as both born Ohio. Henry is working as Day Laborer and Mary as assists in keeping house. They are living on farm of the Henry Mitchell family in Paxton Township. Henry Potts and Mary Meriman applied for Marriage license on March 16, 1869 in Ross County, Ohio
