McCLELLAND -- MYLER families/Paint River
Posted by: Rose Young Date: August 17, 1999 at 13:20:29
  of 1612

Hugh McClelland and wife Charlotte lived in Paint Township and owned land along Paint Creek that actually lay in both counties of Paint and Highland, but the probate and land deeds, etc. were filed in Ross County. They had children Hugh (m. Susan or Susannah Meyler/Myler), Experience (Penny) who m. William Myler, Nancy (an idiot), Ann , Harriet, and Elizabeth (who m. Christopher Canaday).

Hugh died in 1843 - left wife and kids behind, although Elizabeth had already moved to Iowa with her husband.

Hugh Jr. m. and stayed in the area; had a large family. Children included a James, and more that I can't remember off the top of my head.

Believe them to be members of a Presbyterian church in Highland County - in Greenfield?

Any connection to any of these people would be helpful.

Rose of Michigan
