I am gggrandson of William Cole. Our family records indicate 3 possible spellings for Zadok - we spelled it Zadak, Ziddock, and Zodak. Information came from Noman Cole's research in which he lists the William Brothers History of Franklin and Pickaway Counties, Ohio on page 311. "Zadak Lewis (Amelia Cole's father) came from Worcester County, Maryland, to Ohio in the spring of 1806. He lived some seven years near Clarksburg, in Ross County, and then removed to Perry Township, locating upon the farm now owned by Milton Lewis. There he died, February 28, 1835. Mrs. Lewis (Margaret) died August 3, 1846. The children were Soloman, who married Nancy Grey; Peter, who married Hattie Evans; and Milley, who married John Cole."

Zadak Lewis also appears in Maryland's 1800 U.S. Census, Worcester County. Zadak Lewis was enumberated as head of the household.

Noman Cole researched this information in 1981. I have some more information about descendants and you have given me more information about Margaret. Thanks.
George Cole
