Re: Western Methodist Graveyard

Western Methodist Cemetery was abandoned in the 1890's and graves were moved to other locations but in most instances the markers were left where they fell. Most remains were in a mass gravesite without markers in Grandview Cemetery. The Chillicothe Hospital was built over the site at Cherry and Chestnut Street. Tombstones show occasionaly in peoples yards as stepping stones or rocks in a foundation wall. There is a description of John Hunter's marker, it read as follows: John Hunter died March 27,1863 age 92y1m13das. It has a Masonic Emblem
