John J. Moore b1822 Newtonstewart Northern Ireland> Ross County

John J. Moore was born Abt. 1822 in Northern Ireland, and died 1863. He married Martha Ann McNickle. She was born Abt. 1823 in Northern Ireland, and died 1882 in Ross County, Ohio. Both are buried in Grandview Cemetery, Chillicothe, Ohio. John was a bootmaker.

About 1846, the family first emigrated from Newtonstewart (County Tyrone, Northern Ireland) to Montreal and then moved to Chillicothe. The family included:

William Moore, b. 17 March 1843, Newtonstewart; d. 31 August 1913, Pond Creek, Grant County, Oklahoma. William married Elizabeth Varner (1846-1923) in 1866. He was a harness maker in Lucasville, Scioto County, Ohio, and later in Pond Creek.

Margaret Jane Moore, b. 8 November 1846, Ottawa City, Canada; d. 20 July 1920, Ross County, Ohio. She married George Washington Blessing (1836-1922) in 1866.

James Hamilton Moore, b. 7 August 1855, Chillicothe, Ohio; d. 16 February 1919, Ross County, Ohio. James married Hima A. Fuchs.

Mary B. Moore, b. abt 1860; d. abt 1877, Ross County, Ohio.

Dr. John Joseph Moore, b. 27 April 1863, Ross County, Ohio; d. 12 April 1930, South Charleston, Clark County, Ohio. Dr. Moore married Louise Rosegrant (1868-1967) in 1896. He practiced in South Charleston for 37 years.
