Ambrose May & his sister, Lottie Smith

Ambrose and Charlotte May were children of John May and Elizabeth Kegg.
John's father, Leonard May (born 1783) came from Bedford County, PA, to Richland County, OH, in about 1827/28. The following year, his son, John May, returned to Bedford County, PA.Census records show that they raised their children in the Cumberland Valley of Bedford County, PA, and Maryland.
Elizabeth died in 1873.
In 1880, John May was living with his daughter, Lucretia E. Harper in Cumberland Valley Township, Bedford County, PA.
However, it appears that later John went back to Richland County were he died, at the home of his son, Ambrose May or his youngest daughter, Lottie Smith, on April 15, 1887.
Are there any records to prove these theories?
