Ralstin Family

I am seeking information on the Descendants of Robert Ralston, born 1700s PA. He settled in Plymouth township in about 1812. He had a son named James, who Married Mary Murray, in 1824, Miss Lincoln in 1827, and Nancy Hultz in 1868. My great-great grandfather James Ralston was living at his home in 1880, as a farmhand. His father, Alexander, had moved to Indiana, and married in the 1850s.Alexander was on the 1850 Census with James Sr. I ran across another Alexander Ralston, who married a Salome Trauger, or Tranger
in the 1850s in Richland County, and moved to Illinois. This is another Alexander, but He is in the LDS ancestry files(IGI) as the child of James and Mary Murray Ralstin. Were these Alexanders brothers or cousins? because I believe that my Alex Ralston is the son of James, because of the evidence that I have. Any input will help. Thanks
