I am seeking information on my great great grandfather named Jacob Rosche. I think his real name may have been Jakob Roschi and it was changed when he arrived in the USA. He was born in July 1839 in Switzerland. He had 2 children. Charles Robert Rosche, born September 5, 1881 and Rosina Rosche, born August 7, 1879. He and his 2 children immigrated to the United States on the ship “Labrador” leaving LeHavre, France and arrived in the United States on May 21, 1884. They eventually moved to the state of Ohio, living in Mansfield and then in Martins Ferry. I believe that his wife died before he and the children came to the United States as she was not on the ship list, but Jacob and the children are listed. I believe that Rosina and her brother Charles Robert were born in Erlenbach, Bern, Switzerland. I was hoping that maybe they were baptized in the church at Erlenbach. (Jacob's daughter Rosina was married in Mansfield, Ohio to Elmer A. Fisher and they lived their lives in Loudonville, Ohio. His son married a woman named Florence & lived in Martins Ferry and then in West VA)
