Samuel Leard/Putnam Co/1835
Posted by: Paul Laird Date: July 24, 2001 at 19:06:17
  of 272

Looking for information on my ancestor, Samuel Leard, who sold land to John Hutchinson in 1829 - 40+ acre described as R4, Twp 2, Sec 3.

He also purchased land from John Mankoff in 1835 - described as 20 acres R4, Twp 2, Sec 22.

From Putnam County records - Samuel and wife Delilah, to John Hutchinson and deeded to
George Laird. John Mankoff and wife Barbara, of Washington County, Pa to Samuel Laird of Fairfield Co., Oh (Another version filed says Samuel Laird of Muskingham Co, OH), SW quarter of Sector 22 of
Twp 2 in Range 4. Jan 7, 1835, recorded Jan 10, 1835 (And other
version recorded Oct 22, 1835). The land starts at the N bank of
the Crooked Creek which is the SE boundary, and is 20 acres in
size.
1843 Adams County Sector 22 Laird, David NE corner of SW
quarter, 20 acres
