Johanna Manning & John Anthony Bauhaus 1860s

Wondering if anyone has run across the name BAUHAUS in your searching for Putnam Co. history. My 3-great grandfather. JOHN ANTHONY BAUHAUS (JOHANUS ANTONIUS BAUHAUS) came to Putnam Co., probably from either Holland or Germany. He married a woman named Johanna Manning. Their first son may have been born in Putnam or Fulton Counties, OHIO. His name was JOHN AUGUST BAUHAUS. Towns mentioned are Delta, Leipsic and Glandorf. First one is in Fulton co. and the other two are listed in Fulton Co.

JOHN ANTHONY BAUHAUS may have married JOHANNA MANNING in Ohio, or he may have married her in NY or NJ. They eloped by covered wagon to Ohio. Eventually, the family ended up in Avilla, IN due to the fact that JOHN ANTHONY BAUHAUS became interested in the projects of a catholic priest named DEUMING whose parish ended up there. I'm not sure if his interest was one he brought with him to this country, or he became interested after he arrived here. I have extensive information on FATHER DEUMING, but can't seem to find any marriage records for JOHN ANTHONY BAUHAUS and his wife JOHANNA MANNING.

Any suggestions or have you seen this name in any records?

Gerri Bauhaus Williams
