I'm trying to track down my paternal grandfather, Orel Henry Erk, who was born Aug. 6, 1911 in Columbus Grove, Putnam County, Ohio. I don't know if he had other brothers and sisters, and I, especially, do not know who his father was. His mother, Gladys Shane, and her father, Phineas Shane, (Orel's grandfather) raised him in Putnam County during his young years. At least it was listed so in the 1920 census. Orel Henry Erk passed away at age 53 on May 18, 1965 in Lima, Ohio. I don't think anyone from this side of the family is still alive, except for me. Any help is appreciated. Thank you so much.
