John CREGAR b.~1801 and Mary Ann VANDYKE, ~1811 were both born in Hamilton Co, OH. They married in Springfield Twp. in 1835 according to marriage records. They are in the Hamilton Co. censuses up through 1840 and then show up in Israel Twp, Preble Co., OH, in the 1850 census. John's parents are unknown; Mary Ann's parents were Dominicus (b. 1779) and Mary/Polly Packer (b.1786) VANDYKE who came to Hamilton Co, OH in ~1795 from New Jersey.

John and Mary Ann had the following 11 children between 1832 and 1857: Dominicus, Amanda, John, Nancy, Mary, Henry, Charles, Nicholas, Loretta, Rachael, Alice. They moved to Washington, Daviess Co., IN about 1858. John Cregar (Sr) died there in 1859.

Any info on this family, especially while they were in Preble Co, OH, would be greatly appreciated!
