I believe it was all considered the VA Territory, however, our Preble County Ohio folks, Vorhis and Banta, as mine did, came to Preble County Ohio, after the Battle of Ft St Clair. My Lucas Vorhis lay wounded and still, while the ones laying about him were scalped. They had come from Herrodsberg Mercer Co KY., and before that, Adams Co PA where for a time, the Conewago Colony set up a town. Not all left for KY, but ours did. Previous to PA, they can be found in NJ, and before that, in NY and LI. Well, that is off the top of my head, no scalp pun intended.
Enjoy your journey.
Cousin, Pamela Service
