Ochiltree, Thomas J (p. 493)
Thomas J. Ochiltree was born in Louisa County on 1 June 1842 (differs from the census showing age 14), the son of Henry M. and Margaret Ochiltree. His father was born 9 February 1809, native of Virginia, and hte mother was born 10 October 1815 from South Carolina (census says Ohio). They were married in Ohio 4 January 1838. The father died 5 September 1877 and the mother on 30 October 1887.
Thomas was one of nine children but only two brothers named in the historical account: Marshall and Henry M., lived in Haddam, KS.
Thomas J. Ochiltree married Elizabeth Brown, also a native of Louisa cunty, on 27 June, 1869. She was the daughter of J. C. and Mary J. Brown.
Five children were born to Mr. and Mrs. Ochiltree: Stanley, Jennie m. A. J. Pooley of Chicago, William T. and two who were deceased.
