Preble history of 1881 lists David Fouts as a private in Company H 93rd Ohio Infantry
the 93rd had 8 officers and 241 men discharged for disability.
4 officers and 204 men died of disease,wounds and killed in action.
the 93rd fought at Stone River,Chickamagua
,Brown's Ferry,Orchard Knob,Mission Ridge,
Resaca,Kenesaw,Atlanta,Jonesborough,Franklin,and Nashville
