Hello, Charles -

You have been kind enough to help me in the past to get information on my grandfather JOHN McNAMARA -- and I cannot thank you enough for your assistance.

Do you know the specific townships in Preble Co that the D&WT line was in? You said it followed U.S. 35, had a spur off it in New Westville that went to New Paris, and a power station in New Hope.

Are you able to determine the exact townships this line passed through in Preble County? I understand it was a rather short line -- about 38 miles -- from Dayton OH to Richmond IN.

I have a new idea on how to identify the mysterious "Uncle Will & Aunt Laura" who raised my grandfather!! Family story is that Uncle Will sued D&WT to prevent them from running a rail line through his farm land (Uncle Will was a wheat farmer). If I know in which specific townships the line was laid, I can obtain a property ownership tract map and see if I can identify 'Uncle Will'.

Also, someone told me that the Preble County Library has a file on the D&WT lawsuits, but it is not indexed. Do you know anything about this?

Thank you again for your assistance .... and I wish you a very Merry Christmas and Happy New Year.

Barbara Jean McNamara
