DAYTON & WESTERN TRACTION COMPANY
Posted by: B.J. McNamara (ID *****8704) Date: March 08, 2013 at 16:26:32

I am seeking information on the EXACT rail line route of the D&W Traction Co in Preble Co -- the rail line went from Dayton OH to Richmond IN (38 miles). It began operations in 1898 from Dayton to Eaton (24 miles), and was completed into Richmond IN in 1903.

I need to know the EXACT TOWNS that this line went through in Preble County.

If I can identify the route, perhaps I will be able to identify the "Uncle Will and Aunt Laura" (no surname) who raised my grandfather, John McNamara, in the Eaton area in the late 1800s. Uncle Will supposedly had a lawsuit against the D&W Traction Company because it wanted to run the rail line through his land. I can check all property owners in the 1890s who owned land along the route.

Also, does anyone know of an archives where the D&W lawsuit records may be housed?
