So far no luck. I have a deposition of Asher Parker in KY dated 1810, that states he leased land in 1806 on Quick's Run KY. This from a book named EASTERN KENTUCKY REFERENCES by Evelyn Jackson and William Talley, copyright 1980. This is under the Greenup County chapter heading in the book.
Later page in this book refers to an Asher Parker but dated 1871, an "Old Folk's Dinner" that is from the Eaton Weekly Register, Eaton, OH. This says "There were 19 out of the 32 that belonged to the New Light, or Christian Church......"
These 2 Ashers are definitely different ones, because our Asher from the 1810 deposition was b. 1757 and in 1871, he would be 114 yrs. old. Not likely! Our Asher was found on the 1850 Lewis co KY census, 93 yrs old at that time, the last of what we have found.
However, I thought our older Asher MAY have been a member of the New Lights at one point in time, because of the dates and location of the revivals in KY. I have read extensive literature on the revivals, but no mention of our Asher Parker, although there was mention of a revival at Cabin Creek, KY, where our Asher's son's wife, (a Kennard) was born. This is still a dead end and I have no way to access all the KY books in Frankfort because I am too far away. And I am not finding too much on the net about Lewis co. KY yet.
Thanks for sticking with me in the hunt!
