There is a Springfield, Summit Co., located near the intersection of Rt. 91 (Canton Rd.) & Rt. 224. In 1820 this area was still in Portage Co., Summit was formed in 1840. Try Google.com maps to get a general idea of the area. It is south east of Akron and west of Mogadore.
