BISSELL families in Ohio

Thank you for your reply. Yes, I have learned more about my BISSELL family since I posted my query. I will email you privately to see if our families connect somehow.

The surname Bissell appears to be written "Bifsell" on some of the old census records because that is the old style of writing. Whenever there was a double "s", the first letter looked like an "f". I'm sure that there was a good reason for writing that way, but I sure don't know what it would be.
