Perkins-Stephens in Pike County

I am desperate! If anyone comes across this message and has any information possibly on the Perkins (or Pirkins) family in Pike County, I would appreciate it.

Here is what I have: Solomon and Sarah Stephens (AKA Stevens) came to Pike County somewhere between 1870-1880 from Kentucky.

Their daughter, Angeline Stephens, married a Perkins. They had two kids that I know of, both born in Pike County (looks like Newton township). This would have been around 1890. Those two sons are William and Roy Perkins.

It appears that Angeline Stephens married a JOSEPH PIRKINS in Dec. of 1883. I do not know if the PIRKINS is a typo, as I retrieved this from Pike County's genealogy website, and the LDS's website. Or, is JOSEPH supposed to be PERKINS, since Angeline's kids are PERKINS on the 1900 census records. (Unfortunately, Angeline and Joseph somehow either divorced or Joseph died, as in 1900, she was remarried to Charles Newton - and living in Newton, Pike County).

Any leads or information on JOSEPH PIRKINS (PERKINS) would be so appreciated. He would have been born possibly during the Civil War or before, as Angeline was born in 1964. I have seen pictures of their (Angeline and Joseph) descendents, and they are dark-skinned. Possibly Indian.
