Charles GIVENS m. Nancy BUTCHER 23 Dec 1876 Pike Co OH(PCMR)
Nettie V GIVENS m. John W. SHILLING 24 Dec 1896, (PCMR)
Data on Mary GIVENS, Mother of Charles - This is NOT proven, just offered as a hint:
William GIVENS m. Mary Catherine CHEW on 20 Jan 1850 (PCMR)

The above GIVENs are descendants of (my) George & Nancy (MORGAN) and do not appear to have had any sons named Charles. The above Charles who m. Nancy BUTCHER is probably a Grandson of George & Nancy. The William GIVENS above is NOT a son of George & Nancy.
Migration pattern hint:
My George came from IR ca 1790, burying 2 wives along the way. He brought sons with him, but the only ones to survive into records were Robert and William (d. bef 1846, therefore NOT the above William).
He went to PA, married Mancy MORGAN and they came directly to Ross (now Pike) Co OH by ca 1805. Settled in Beaver Twp, "Givens Station". George never left, dying at age 103 in 1846.
In about 1820-30 many of the Pike Co OH people left and went to MO. Mary "Polly" GIVENS (dau. of George) had m. John THARP and ended up in Holt Co MO. I know that BUTCHER and a few other lines also are found there.
There is a definite link back to Pike Co OH, but since these are collateral lines, I do not work them.
Suggest you contact the Pike Co OH Genealogical Soc. since many descendants have their lines on file at the Waverly Library.
