Jerry: Please check the 1850 Fed. Census for Beaver Twp., Pike Co., OH. Listed is Sarah Butcher, 50, widow, & children: Abraham, 28, Adam, 24, Frances, 20, & Mary & Joseph, both 16. William's & Nancy's son, Adam, also is listed at 24, residing in Marion Twp. The death record of George Butcher, s/o Adam & Mary Tharp Butcher, lists Adams place of birth as Piketon. Because of the close vicinity of the Thomas Tharp, John Butcher, & Bumgarner families resided in the area near Zahn's Corner, Seal Twp., & Givens Station, Beaver Twp. John d. 1848 & is bur. at Givens Chapel, in Seal Twp. near the Beaver Twp. line. William & Nancy are bur. at Beaver Union Cemetery, Beaver, Beaver Twp. Buried on the same plot is Adam (1826-1898) & his wife, Lydia (1831-1911). Believe this is sufficient proof that the Adam in question was s/o John & Sarah.
