Thank you for the information on the marriage of
Moses Smith and Mary Ann England. I thought I would never find the information. Mary Ann was my great-great grandmother. As I stated she and her children were in the 1860 census of Piatt County and I found a newspaper article that a letter addressed to her was unable to be delivered in the late 1860's. I have found the marriage license for three of her children here in Piatt County. I have no idea why they would have migrated to Illinois but perhaps with this additional information I may find a clue. Thanks again!
