Phillip Senft was the son of Johan Phillip and Anna Mary Bens/Bentz Senft
of York, Pa. He was born about 1756 and
married to a Matlend/Madaline surname unknown. Phillip did own property in York, Pa, he decided to leave York and
spent several years in Washington County,
Maryland. There was a Philip/Phillip Senft from York in the American Revolution, I am not 100% sure if it was
the Father or Son, most likely the son
Phillip who eventually came to Fairfield
Co. Ohio and setteling in the area that
became Perry County. There may be some
errors in the copy of the Will someone
so kindly sent to me years ago.
If you know of an error please let me
know, so we can correct it on this messageboard. The name Senft eventually
changed to Sinift in Perry Co and the
Sinifts are now in all parts of this Country. The branch of the family in
York Pa, still spells the name Senft.
A little more on Johan Phillip Senft who
immigrated on the Ship Ediburgh in 1751,
Nicholas Zeigler was also on the same ship and I noticed George Zeigler was
a wittness to Phillip Jrs. Will.
The Senfts in York Pa were originally
Coopers, (Barrell Makers) there were
distilleries nearby in York, Pa.
Phillip Senfts son Jacob was married
to Catherine Sain.
