Rev. Rogers Dead.
One of the saddest occasions it has been our duty to record, in the past years, was the death of Rev. John H. Rogers, of Antwerp, Ohio, who passed away at the home of August Weissert and wife last Thursday evening.
He and his wife had come from their Ohio home to participate in the 100th birthday celebration of Mrs. Lorinda Nifong, which was Feb. 8th. He began to feel ill at Ft. Wayne, while enroute here and gradually grew worse until death followed.
He was a Christian church minister and leave as wife, who was with him at the time of his death, besides a son and daughter in Ohio. Most of the guests of Mr. and Mrs. Weissert had gone home, the only ones remaining were B. F. Keirns and wife, John Watson, of Ohio, and Miles Watson, of Iowa.
The deceased was about 63 years of age. The remains were taken to Ohio, Friday, and were accompanied by William Weissert from this place, besides the Ohio relatives who returned hom at the same time.
