SHAFFER, William/Delilah

I am looking for any information on the Shaffer family from Paulding, OH. Mathew (PA) and Nancy Clemens-Shaffer (VA), the parents of William W. Shaffer - b 1820(?)-1920(?) OH; married Delilah(nmn) 1840-1919 (IN), about 1856. They purchased and sold nearly 360 acres of farmland around the Paulding county area. Two out of 10 children were Della and George. The 1900 Blue-Creek Twp census lists William as "1C 2 R B". Does this mean he was part indian? His nickname was "Wild Bill". The family (or some) migrated to Mich., Coe Twp, Isabella County, or Coleman, Clare County, in 1900, and lived on farmland possibly owned by Colier Sheaffer (a change in spelling). A newspaper article was printed about William Shaffer in the Clare County area noting his 100th-year birthday and that his mother was a direct decendant of Pocohontas [tribe]; I believe Nancy Clemens was not her real name. If anyone could help end the search as to what newspaper this article is from [I have a photocopy of a torn and tattered original (Dec 31. Special to the Sunday News (MI)]; who are the other eight children? Was Delilah a 2nd wife? Does William have any sis/bros? What other counties or twps could he have lived?
