hi terry,
I think the easiest way for you to get to the elmore library, would be to take route 6 to route 20. turn right on 20,and take it to rt.105.turn right on 105 and take that straight in to elmore.when you see the elmore sign, turn right at the next rd. take that to the light.go through the light and the library will be on the right side about a block down. elmore library has the biggest genealogy dept. in ottawa county.the woman who runs the dept. is an elderly lady named grace. she is VERY helpful.she made the dept.what it is today. she has spent many many years transcribing old records. and has organized them all into notebooks. when the probate court was going to throw out all their old records, she carried them to the library by the box full. she is currently trying to organize these records. remember these are the original documents. she will let you look through them if you ask her.
I hope you can add many branches to your tree by going there.
good luck,
louise
