Hi Darlene! I just found your posting looking for Pettibones. The following is information from my Family Tree File on the Pettibones and Wolcotts (I have the Wolcotts traced back to William Brewster who came over on the Mayflower). When you get to the Kellys, that is my husband's family who were also from Ottawa Co. My entire file is on I hope this is helpful.

First Generation

1. Bygod Eggleston.

Bygod married Mary Talcott.

They had one child:

2. Sarah Eggleston. Born on 28 Mar 1643.

Sarah married John Pettibone.

On 12 Feb 1736 when Isaac was 24, he married Hepzibah Humphrey, daughter of , in Simsbury, Hartford Co., CT. Born in 1720. Hepzibah died on 14 Dec 1800, she was 80.

              ii.       Judith. Born on 7 Sep 1741.

5. Isaac Pettibone. Born on 12 Jun 1746 in VT. Isaac died in New Haven, VT on 10 Mar 1811, he was 64.

Isaac married Dorothy "Dolly" Case. Born in 1755.

They had the following children:

              ii.       Roswell.

              iii.       Sarah.

              iv.       Nancy.

              v.       Erastus.

              vii.       Isaac. Born in 1785.

Sixth Generation

6. Truman Pettibone. Born on 6 Feb 1791 in Norfolk, CT. Truman died in Danbury, Ottawa Co., OH on 22 Jul 1830, he was 39.

First Justice of the Peace, Danbury Township. From Pettibone Family Geneaology: Truman Pettibone came to Ohio about 1805 or 1806 from Middlebury, Vermont and settled in Cleveland, Ohio. He met Phoebe Wolcott in December of 1813, and in the spring of 1815 moved with his wife and her family to Danbury Township, Ottawa County, Ohio, where he died of a sun stroke in 1828. On 10 Mar 1814 when Truman was 23, he married Phoebe Wolcott, daughter of Benajah Wolcott (17 Apr 1762-11 Aug 1832) & Elizabeth Bradley (31 Mar 1771-Feb 1813), in Cleveland, Cuyahoga Co., OH. Born on 12 Feb 1796 in Catskill, NY. Phoebe died in Danbury Township, Ottawa Co., OH on 24 Dec 1872, she was 76.

1940 Newspaper article indicates that Phoebe Wocott met Truman Pettibone at a grand ball in Cleveland when she accompanied her father Benajah, who was called from the Peninsula to Cleveland to play his violin so there would be music to celebrate the end of the War of 1812
Her father's family and four others were the first settlers in the Township. They were driven away by Indians in the fall of 1813 and lived in Newburg, Ohio, now part of the City of Cleveland. During her residence in Newburg, she was married and returned to Ottawa County in the spring of 1815 where she made her home until her death.

Seventh Generation

7. Elizabeth Pettibone. Born on 18 Oct 1814 in Newberg, OH. Elizabeth died on 8 Oct 1895, she was 80.

2 children died as babies, Alice 10/14/1840-11/5/1840 and Mary 3/25/1855-6/13/1856 Elizabeth was the first white child to be born in the settlrment of Newberg, Ohio, now part of Cleveland. Her parents, Truman and Phoebe(Wolcott) Pettibone, came to Ottawa the spring of 1815. They were driven out of Ottawa the Indians in the fall of 1813, but returned in 1815. She is buried in the family cemetary on the prairie with her husband, John Reid Alexander Bryson Kelly.

On 23 Jul 1835 when Elizabeth was 20, she married Hon. John Reid Alexander Bryson Kelly, son of William Kelly (23 Dec 1779-7 Dec 1867) & Jane Reid (1 Oct 1779-29 Jul 1815), in Danbury Township, OH. Born on 14 Dec 1809 in Troy, Albany Co., NY. John Reid Alexander Bryson died in Old Kelly Homestead, Danbury, Ottawa Co., OH on 18 Apr 1888, he was 78.

When he was 14 yrs.old, he helped his father, William Kelly, build the Marblehead Lighthouse. He is buried in the private cemetary on the prairie that was once part of his farm. On Christmas 1862 he was presented with a chair, handmade by Confederate Prisoners on Johnson Island, OH. It was made of carved native woods and bottom laced with strips of leather from the tops of worn-out officers boots. It was donated to the Texas Confederate Museum in 1979 by R. L. Kelly and his sister Hilda Nelson.

On 5 Apr 1857 when Bradley was 41, he married Eliza Ann MacDonald, in Ottawa Co., OH. Born abt 1836 in PA.

They had the following children:
