Researching Jacob Long 1840-1893 b. in Penn. md. in Ottawa Co., Ohio in 1864 to Mary Elisabeth Jung/Young. Mary b. in Spiesheim, Germany in 1844 moved to Genoa in 1857. Siblings are John, Jacob, Eva C., Matilda and Philippina. Looking for info on Jacob Long's birth in 1840. In 1880 census Jacob and Mary are living in Wright Twp., Hillsdale Co., Michigan with son John H. age 6. Next door is Jacob Sr. and wife Magdalena. Jacob b. abt. 1805-1807 and Magdalena b. abt. 1818 both in PA. Next door to Mary Jung's parents (John and Susanna Bihn Young) in Clay, Ottawa Co., Ohio in 1860 in Adam Long b. PA abt. 1823. The Youngs sponsors the baptism of 3 of Adam Long and Amanda Koppelberger's children: Perry b. 1855, Norman Alexander b. 1868 and Minnie b. 1870. Think perhaps there is a connection between Adam Long and Jacob Long Sr. and Jr. St. John's church records record Amanda Long's maiden name as Koppelberger listing her birth as March 2, 1833 in Montgomery Co. PA and an 1874 Ottawa Co. atlas states Adam Long moved to Ohio in 1853 from Penn. Wonder if the Longs were from Montgomery Co., PA too. Would like to hear from anyone researching the Longs or Jung/Youngs of Ottawa Co., Ohio, Hillsdale Co., Michigan or Montgomery Co., PA. Deb Farber at Farber@kconline.com
