Lona Murrey Morrison, age 91, of Caldwell, Ohio, beloved mother, grandmother, sister, and friend, departed this life November 23, 2010, at Summit Acres Nursing Home in Caldwell. She was born December 7, 1918, in Noble County, Ohio, second child of the late William and Ethel Miller Murrey. She was employed as a cook for Carlisle Grade School, and she was also employed by Teters Flower Shop and Summit Acres Nursing Home. She was a lifelong member of the Green Valley Church of Christ, and she belonged to the Carlisle Women's Club. She enjoyed baking, sewing, and quilting. Mrs. Morrison had 151 living descendents and was proud to tell people about her children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, great-great-grandchildren, nieces, and nephews. She was extremely proud to say that she was blessed with fifty-two sets of 5 generations.
In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, Clarence "Doc" Morrison; two sisters, Ruth Leasure and Vera McAtee; two grandchildren; two -great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.
Surviving are three daughters, Patti (Jim) Stephens of Caldwell and Marty (Butch) Swain, both of Caldwell, and Nancy (Roger) Love of Cambridge; one son, Tom (Marilyn) Morrison of Summerfield; and one brother, Junior (Ruth) Murrey of Massillon. She will be sadly missed by so very many people who loved her and by her countless friends who also knew her as "Grammie."
Friends may call Friday, November 26, 2010, from 2-8PM at McVay-Perkins Funeral Home, 416 East Street, Caldwell, where the funeral service will be observed Saturday, November 27th at 11AM with Evangelist Ronald Rossiter officiating. Burial will follow at Crum Ridge Cemetery.
