The ancestry of William Lucas is as follows:
William Lucas was born August 1824 in Belmont county Ohio to William Lucas and Ruth Walters who were married 23 Dec 1823 in Belmont county. This was the second marriage for William. His first wife was his cousin Temperance Lucas and by her he had several children. William died shortly after marrying Ruth Walters. The parents of Ruth Walters are Peter Walters and Isabella Huston who both died in Nobel county Ohio. I believe that Ruth migrated to Noble county along with members of the Walters family and she brought along of course her only son William. To go further back-- the elder William is a son of John Lucas born 1760 in Montgomery county Maryland. The father of John Lucas is William Lucas born 173o Prince Georges county Maryland. I have the line back to the immigrant ancestor Thomas Lucas born about 1650 Little Saxon, Suffolk, England. You can get a lot of this informatin from the book, "Lucas Genealogy" by AnnaBelle Kemp.
