I have also thought Martin Keith is a figment of someone's imagination but
Wesley Elmer Keith's obituary clearly indicated Morton Keith as his father.
When I went back to check records it indicates Martin Keith married Rhoda
Carnes in 1868 and since there is no census record on Martin or Morton Keith
I tracked Rhoda Keith and found where she had Elmer Keith living with her on
the 1870 and 1880 Census. As you know she married John Longfellow in 1871. I
have more questions than answers; how could Martin Keith exists and not
appear on any census records, how could he have avoided The Civil War ?
Could he have been using an alias to avoid the war ? Is it possible Martin
Keith may not have been Wesley Elmer Keith's biological father ? Could he
have been incarcerated in some prison ? I'm at a loss. I need your help Noble County ! Please...
