Linda, Nice to hear from you.I tried to contact you but your e-mail has changed.Mine is [email protected].
I found the Liberty Hill cemetery which is where most of the Davidsons and a lot of wards are buried.
This is listed as Grove Hill Cemetery in a lot of cemetery listings, but it is actually Liberty Hill. It's in Washington County actually.
The Lat. n393537 w812811.3 it is located on Washington county 8, 1/4 mile off twp rd 116.Take the Macksburg exit off of I-77.On the West side of the freeway is twp 116.You'll see a sign on the right that says Liberty Hill Cemetery and there is a dirt/mud road leading up.We parked at the bottom to the side of the dirt road, I don't advise driving up.The main dirt road goes straight up but there is a grass covered spur leading to the left. Go to the left.At the top of the hill you'll find the cemetery.
William Davidson's grave is broken or not visible.Jane Davidson his first wife along with Margaret, George, Charlie and Thomas. lat n393531.6 w812810.6
Aurelius Longfellow with Elizabeth Davidson n393531.9 w81288810.3.Issac, Charles, George, Armstead Longfellow are there also.James Nesselroad who married Christine Ward is there n393530.6 w812810.8.
Of the Wards there is Charles, Ellen, Daniel, Lucinda, Mary, Katie, Andrew.
I took photos of many of the graves but every time we found a cemetery the sky un-zipped with thunder and lighting so some of our photos are questionable.I'll send you mine, you send me yours.
I didn't make it to Macksburg Cemetery which has James Davidson, Dyer and lots of Longfellows. The directions I got were it's on the hill in back of town beyond the new cemetery.
Washington County has a great Genealogical library in Marietta.I did not sufficient time to do complete research, but they do have cemetery listings. One of our other Davidson cousins said that many newpaper articles of the period featured the family. If you dig up anything I want copies, Please?
