My "brick wall" is my ggg-grandfather Nathan Yocum (spelled 100 different ways) born about 1783 in PA, married a Mary Waters in Irville in 1812 - I can't find anything at all about her family. She must have died before 1830, because in the 1830 census, Nathan had a younger wife and more children. I believe he had about seven children. He owned land in Hopewell Township according to a deed dated 1828 and another one dated 1834?

He was in the 1810,1820, 1830, and 1840 Muskingum County censuses and then I found him in Darke County in 1850 married to a woman named Francis who was a lot younger than him with two more sons and a daughter born after 1830.

I don't know the names of the children born in Muskingum County except for my gg-grandfather Peter Yocum b. 1821-22, and possible John who was listed with Nathan in the 1850 census, born about 1825 (I've always thought maybe Mary Waters Yocum died giving birth to him????). I have NO idea who Peter's mother was (Mary or Francis or ??) I haven't been able to find any other marriage records for Nathan Yocum other than the one to Mary Waters.

If you can help me, I'd be ETERNALLY GRATEFUL !!
