Are you familiar with the Lett Settlement in / near Chandlersville / Zanesville OH? They refer to some Browns as being part of the founding group of mixed-race / intermarried early settlers from Virginia. We went to check it out and found a VERY old "Brown Cemetery" - unfortunately overgrown and impossible to read the markers.

I also found records where my William Brown's property is now part of The Wilds animal park.

What fun!
