Looking for info on Aden Bayles, on 1840 US Census w/family in Muskingum Co, OH.
There is information that the brother of Isaac Carter, being David Carter, was married to Ruhamah Bayles in 1841 in Muskingum County, OH. They moved, along with their children to Jefferson Twp, Grant County, Indiana by 1850. At that time, Enoch Bayles was living in the same township with David's brother. Isaac Bayles was living in the same township in the home of Hammond Dunn. It is possible that Enoch and Isaac moved from Muskingum Countywith their sister to Indiana (no evidence that Enoch and Isaac actually lived in Muskingum County, though. Ruhama's father was Aden/Adin Bales/Bayles of Muskingum Co., OH. Another possible family member is George W,. Bayles, born 1832 in Ohio. He married Agnes Shacklett and they lived in Perry Twp, Licking County, Ohio, in 1860 (this township borders on Muskingum County). One of his children was named Hezekiah Aden - Hezekiah was the name of Agnes' father, so maybe Aden was George's father? George died in 1865 at Vicksburg.

The 1840 Census for "Adin Bales" includes 1 male age 0-4, 2 males age 5-9,1 male 10-14, 2 males 15-19 and 1 male age 60-69. Also 1 female age 20-29 and one female age 40-49. The ages are consistent with Isaac, Enoch, Thomas, George and Ruhamah, all being children of Adin/Aden. This Aden is not the son of Jesse and Margaret (Monraine) Bales as that Aden was still living in West Virginia in 1840-and 1850. Some info from Peggy.
