Here is a summary of what I know about this family. Thanks to Nadine for all of her help with look-ups. SEAMAN 1. Harman (Harmon) Seaman, b. 1809, d. 1899, married Mary Ann Mattason (Mattison) in Morgan County in 1832. 2. Mary Ann Mattison Seaman, b. 1818, d. 1898. 3. Harman and Mary Ann lived in Malta during the years 1840 until at least 1880, according to census records. 4. Harman & Mary Ann had no children of their own, but Charlotte Ann Conner (b. 1841) was living with them in 1850 and Winfield S. Conner (b. 1852) was living with them in 1860 and 1880 (he is listed as their nephew). 5. Harman's parents were born in New York. 6. Mary Ann's parents were born in either Ohio or New York (the information differs from census to census). MATTISON (MATTASON) 1. Maria Mattison married Daniel Conner in Morgan Co in 1832. 2. Mary Ann Mattason married Harman Seaman in Morgan Co in 1832. 3. Mary Ann was born in Ohio, and was about 14 when she married Harman. 4. If Maria was her sister, Maria was likely the older of the two. 5. Based on the information we know about Mary Ann, there should be a record of Mattisons in Ohio in the 1830 and 1840 census. 6. There appear to be varous spellings of their last name. 7. There were Mattisons and Mattsons in Ohio in 1830 and 1840, but not in Morgan County. CONNER 1. Daniel Conner married Maria Mattison in Morgan Co in 1832. 2. There were Conners living in Ohio in the years in question, but there were none in Morgan County in 1820, 1830 or 1840. There was, however, an Edwin Corner living in McConnelsville in 1830. Still work to be done............ Notify Administrator about this message?
