Marion Twp, Morgan Co, OH- Chesterhill[originally laid out in 1834]
"James SOUTH, an early settler, lived on lot 62, ion a house which was sometimes used for a schoolroom and as a place of worship for the Methodists. Here James HOPKINS occasionally preached."
Page 447:
"A correspondent of the Chester Hill BEACON[*a local sheet whose existence was evanescent] for March 1880 names the following persons as being residents of the village in 1840....James SOUTH...."
