Conrad Truss is my Great-great Grandfather. I just now came across the information on Sarah Elizabeth Keefer/Kieffer. Conrad's parents were killed during the Napoleanic Wars and his two brothers came to American. He stowed away on a cattle boat and when found worked with the cattle for his fare. He did land in New Orleans and worked his way up the river and ended up in Ohio where he met and married Sarah and he ended up in Wabash, Wabash Co., Indiana. They were members of the Friends and they might have the records. His sons fought in the Civil War and Conrad was discusted because he was sick of war. Sarah had left home with her brother and a sister, because her brother was being shunned. His daughter, Malinda Mary Truss married my great grandfather. Lyman Brown and they had among others, William Emerson Brown who was my grandfather. I have a notebook with all their descendants, but I don't know who the parents are and Darmstat does not exist anymore. Please get in touch with me and lets share information. I would like more information on the Keefers.rosalacurtis@yahoo.com
