Hannah (Rhodehamel) Richardson married Elijah Hunt (1800-1858) on 8/22/1842 in Miami Co. Lived on family farm. They bought a house in Laura, Ohio and he died in 1858. His will is on file and she survived him. There is a Miami Co marriage record of a Hannah Hunt marrying an Albert Ferris in 1861, but I don't know if that is she or a niece etc. No info on what happened to Hannah, when or where died, etc. except on 2/20/1864 she signed a quitclaim to the Elijah farm over to one of Elijah's sons for $300. The children she had with Elijah is somewhat of a mystery. We think that John W. Hunt, prob b. 1843 d. 1908 was her son and that is my line. He went to Indiana. She may also have had Elijah Jr. and Susannah who are mentioned as minors in 1858 when Elijah's will was probated. Elijah had numerous children with his first wife Susannah McCool. He was early settler of Miami Co, Quaker coming as child from South Carolina with parents Samuel Hunt and Margaret Townsend 1805. (Received Miami MM Warren Co Ohio 8/22/1805.
Hannah and John W Hunt (my ggfather)have always been a mystery until recently when on a message board I found someone who is also a ggdaughter of his but thru another wife. John W. married 3 times. Mary Staley (2-3 children), Laura M. Hoover (2 sons) and Elloy Alice Reeder Redmon (3 daughters). John's death certificate (Millersburg Indiana) has his mother as Hannah Rhodehammuel born in Pa. but no date or place. That's all we knew.
There are many Rhodehamels in Miami Co and census and other records have a variety of spellings, so I am having trouble figuring out who is who. The 1850 census missed the Hunts and several others who lived near them.
Since Hannah is as far back as I have got, I am interested in going back further. I assume Johann Jakob was born somewhere in Germany.
I have some info on Elijah and on her children forward, if you want it. Thanks.
Pam Hunt
