To add to this subject, I found a copy of "History of Montgomery County" which has several chapters on German Township. It lists my ancestors Peter b.? and Catharine Scheaffer, b. ca.1745, as the parents of Mrs. Phillip Gunckel,(Catharine, born Berks Co. PA July 12, 1766), Mrs. George Boyer, (my Boyer line) and a Mrs. Pressler. All came to Germantownship (with husbands)in 1804, 1805 from PA. The sons came about 1814. This book must have been written late 1800s.
