There was a man that once lived at the corner of Hemple Rd. and Diamond Mill near Farmersville that started out with a produce stand, his name was Woodie Bowman. I don't know if his real name was Ward or not. Woodie's stand grew into a large grocery store which was in West Carollton, OH.
It was one of the best grocery stores in the Dayton area, it even had a restaurant. It closed some years ago and has been torn down. I believe Woodie has past away also.
